Privacy Policy

St. Rita's Catholic Church, Ndakwo Abuja

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how parish registration, member accounts, voluntary membership contributions, contact enquiries, and newsletter subscriptions are handled.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect parish-registration details, member account information, membership contribution records, transfer proofs, newsletter subscriptions, and information included in contact enquiries.

2. How We Use Information

We use this information to maintain parish and member records, administer voluntary memberships, confirm membership contributions, respond to enquiries, prevent misuse, and send requested parish updates. We do not sell or rent personal information.

3. Optional Member Recognition

Public member recognition is optional and disabled by default. A consenting active member may display only a chosen name or Anonymous Supporter, the active tier, and membership month and year.

Contribution amounts, email addresses, phone numbers, payment references, transfer proofs, account history, family information, and administrator notes are never displayed on the supporter wall. Withdrawing consent removes the entry immediately.

4. Membership Payment Security

Membership contributions may be processed by Paystack or Flutterwave when enabled. Card and bank-login details are entered on the provider's secure interface and are not stored by this website. Membership transfer proofs are private and available only to the member and authorised parish administrators.

Sustaining Member Accounts

Member accounts store a verified email address, password hash, selected tier, renewal status, private contribution history, receipts, and payment-provider references. Transfer proofs are private and available only to authorised parish administrators. Automatic Paystack charges may continue at the selected weekly or monthly interval until cancelled.

The parish registration record may include your name, passport photograph, date of birth, gender, marital and household details, residential and office addresses, occupation, origin, nationality, sacraments received, church organisations, next of kin, Basic Christian Community, date joined, service-contact choice, declaration, and parish-office review details. Photographs and all parish-registration details are stored privately and are available only to the member and authorised parish administrators. Identity documents are verified by the parish office and are not uploaded through this form.

Public supporter recognition is off by default. If a member opts in, only the chosen display name or “Anonymous Supporter,” active tier, and membership month and year appear. Contribution amounts, contact details, payment references, and histories are never displayed. Withdrawing consent removes the entry immediately.

5. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for parish administration, financial records, legal obligations, dispute handling, and the purposes described in this policy.

6. Security and Access

Administrative pages are restricted to authenticated parish administrators. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may ask to access or correct your information, request deletion where appropriate, or stop newsletter messages by contacting the Parish. Some financial records may need to be retained for legal or administrative reasons.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this policy when parish practices, website features, or legal requirements change. The current version will remain available on this page.
